It’s reading week and for some reason, I don’t feel like watching TV so much. I can’t seem to start any new anime of this season nor watch more of The Seven Deadly Sins or finish Violet Evergarden. There are a lot of things I would like to watch, but I just don’t feel like.
Continue readingThe Dragon Prince was released recently on Netflix. With new Netflix Original shows arriving every week, it’s really hard to keep up with everything. But I think this Avatar: The Last Airbender spiritual successor might be worth your time.
Disenchantment is a Netflix Original created by Matt Groening, the man behind The Simpsons and Futurama. While the previous shows are contemporary and futuristic, Disenchantment takes us to a wacky medieval fantasy.
Today, The Hollow premiered on Netflix. This is a supenatural mystery animation, and I was curious about it, but unfortunately it didn’t delivered, at least on episode one.
The premise is interesting enough: three kids don’t remember who they are, and are confronted with many dangerous mysteries. The story and script are nice. It’s on the animation, dubbing and pacing that it doesn’t do a good job.
The animation feels a little bit strange, unnatural, and reminds me of some older point and click games I’ve used to play on my computer. And also does the dubbing. It may be the animation fault, and not the dubbers, but sometimes it feels like it’s just someone patiently practicing the script. And with this, the pacing gets way too slow, of course.
With the first episode feeling like a pilot, I won’t be continuing the series, unless I read some great reviews praising the series from episode 2 onwards.
When this show started airing, it didn’t catch my attention and I though it would be too random and forced for my tastes. And up to some point, seems that I was right.
Browsing Netflix’s catalog, looking for something to download and watch on my commute to college, I decided to give it a chance, since there was a lot of buzz about it online back when it aired. The first episode was ok, if not too fun or exciting, at least it was interesting and presented us with the show’s premise.
But the second episode episode goes on without giving us new things. I mean, of course, the main character explains how things work there and everything, but in the end, it only showed that the gambling goes deeper in the m this school, and how there’s a lot of cheating and everything.
Recently Netflix released its new original series: Lost in Space. It’s based on a show that aired in the 60s, about a family that… well… is lost in space. I’ve watched the movie with my parents some years ago, as I was curious after they told me about the original show, and I really enjoyed it. And now, we have a brand new series, a reboot, that has updated visuals, characters and spaceships.
This time, I went for a Netflix original j-drama, developed by Fuji Television, called Atelier (a.k.a Underwear). Although I’ve watched Japanese and Chinese movies when I was younger, this was my first Asian TV show.
This weekend I’ve watched Atypical, a Netflix original drama about a teenager with autism. It’s been on my radar since its launch, but I never managed to have time for it, but now I’m glad I gave it a chance.
