Occultic;Nine Vol 2 #FridayReads

Last month I read the first volume of Occultic;Nine (by Chiyomaru Shikura and pako). I had way more fun with it than I imagined, and it left me eager for more. In the end, last week I bought volumes 2 and 3.

I started it the day before yesterday and I’m at 40%. The writing seems to have improved, and now the book has a more serious tone, and the main character is not so much focused on boobs anymore. Which is a huge improvement for me.

Synopsis (Vol. 1): Yuta Gamon, a young boy who lives in Kichijoji, runs an occult blog called “Kirikiri Basara.” He spends his days dreaming of making a fortune off his affiliate links. What starts off as a tiny feeling that something’s wrong develops into a case that goes beyond imagining. Suddenly, Yuta brings together the fates of nine strangers. (Check on Amazon)

Fridays Reads + New Books (1)

As the weekend arrives, my reading week is over. That means next Monday I’m back at the college. This week wasn’t as productive as I hoped, but still, I managed to rest and read a little bit. I also got some new books for my Kindle.

Manga From The Library #FridayReads

Today I went to the library to pick up my hold: the first Oh My Goddess! manga. This is one of my favorite anime of all time (if not my favorite), and I couldn’t even try to come up with an excuse not to have read it all these years.

The only downsides are:

  1. It’s in western format, with pages from left-to-right, instead of right-to-left. Didn’t check inside yet to see if the pages are inverted, to also be read left-to-right;
  2. I couldn’t find the second volume at the library system. Maybe they don’t have it anymore. But at least I know they have other volumes.

Friday Reads: July 20th

This week I finished reading Neverseen, the 4th book on the Keeper of the Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger. It’s one of my favorite series at the moment, and it’s a shame that I took so long to read this book. But now I already put a hold for the next book at the library.

Death Bringer Skullduggery Pleasant #6

And also, after a few years, I’m finally continuing to read the Skullduggery Pleasant series by Derek Landy, with the book Death Bringer, the 6th in the series. Back in Brazil I’ve got to read the previous books, but they stopped publishing the series without any notice. So, I kept waiting for the next release, which never came. But now I’ve got it in English in my Kindle. 😁

If you’re wondering, one of the reasons I didn’t get an English version before is because all characters names were translated or adapted in Portuguese, and I didn’t want to relearn all of them.

I’m now at 11%, and  I’m really glad I’ve returned to this series. The humor is great, and the story and the characters too. I hope I can finish it soon and start the next one in the series: Kingdom of the Wicked.

Friday Reads: Neverseen (Keeper Of The Lost Cities #4)

This week I’ve started reading Neverseen, the 4th book in the Keeper Of The Lost Cities series by Shannon Messenger. The series is not as famous as it should be, because its really awesome, and so far this book is great! I strongly recommend it if you enjoy books like Harry Potter and Percy Jackson. If you are not reading it yet, check the series at Amazon.

Friday Reads (May 11)

Today, I finished reading Salvage Trouble by J. S. Morim on my way to college. And now, going back home I just started reading Clash of Worlds, the last book on the House of Secrets trilogy. The first two books were very fun, so I’m excited to finally finish the whole story.
