I Don’t Like Trailers

I don’t know if the problem is me, growing old and grumpy, or trailers nowadays are really too long and spoiler-filled as I think.

Nowadays, I avoid at all costs watching trailers for movies and shows that I’m already interested in, and usually watch only the beginning of it, for the ones I don’t know yet. That’s because when you watch, let’s say, the newest trailer for a upcoming Star Wars movie, you end up knowing so much that during most of the movie, you won’t be surprised at all. And what’s the point?

Yes, I know that they have to build up the hype, but putting all the funniest jokes and the best action scenes at the trailer, actually makes me think I don’t need to spend money to go see a movie. And it’s not only me, my wife absolutely hates trailers, even more than I.

Again, I don’t know if it’s just me, and trailers have always been like this, or if they are making it more spoilery than they used to.

What do you think? Am I the only one, or do you agree with me?

  1. I feel exactly the se and try stay as far. Away from trailers and fb cuase people tend to ruin a movie for me

  2. I definitely feel trailers these days kind of push everything at the audience leaving little for the movie itself. I think trailers used to more just try to introduce the idea ad make you interested but deliberately tried to hide the more interesting material making you want to see the movie.
Then again, maybe I’m also just getting older.
