The Dragon Prince Review (Netflix Original)

The Dragon Prince was released recently on Netflix. With new Netflix Original shows arriving every week, it’s really hard to keep up with everything. But I think this Avatar: The Last Airbender spiritual successor might be worth your time.

Final Space arrived on Netflix a few weeks ago, and a lot of people are crazy about it, myself included.

Watching Now

Last week I got addicted to Kim’s Convenience, a show about a Korean family that runs a convenience store in Toronto.

I’ve watched the first episode a few months ago during my flight to Toronto, and although I’ve liked it at that point, it didn’t catch me. But this week I watched a few more episodes with my wife, and I’m totally hooked. Sadly, we already watched everything and have to wait for season 3 😕

I also started watching Yuru Camp, an anime about… Camping. I’ve watched the first 3 episodes and so far I’m enjoying it a lot. It’s so cozy and heartwarming! As for cartoons, I’m enjoying the new Ducktales, and did catch up with Steven Universe (OMFG WHAT WAS THAT EPISODE!!!)

Yesterday I also started watching the last season of The Americans, one of the best TV shows I’ve watched these last few years. If you didn’t watch it yet, please do it! After I finish i, I plan on watching Glow’s 2nd season, quick premiered on Netflix last Friday. And with my wife, I’m starting Ozark. I’ve been curious about it since the first trailer, but never watched it.

And you, what are you watching right now? Leave a comment!

First Impressions: Netflix’s The Hollow

Today, The Hollow premiered on Netflix. This is a supenatural mystery animation, and I was curious about it, but unfortunately it didn’t delivered, at least on episode one.

The premise is interesting enough: three kids don’t remember who they are, and are confronted with many dangerous mysteries. The story and script are nice. It’s on the animation, dubbing and pacing that it doesn’t do a good job.

The animation feels a little bit strange, unnatural, and reminds me of some older point and click games I’ve used to play on my computer. And also does the dubbing. It may be the animation fault, and not the dubbers, but sometimes it feels like it’s just someone patiently practicing the script. And with this, the pacing gets way too slow, of course.

With the first episode feeling like a pilot, I won’t be continuing the series, unless I read some great reviews praising the series from episode 2 onwards.

Star vs The Forces of Evil is back!

The second part of season 3 is coming, and I’m so happy, as I caught up with the show last week. And of course, people on Reddit are already coming up with theories based on the titles.

The only downside is that in March I’ll be moving and preparing to start a post-graduation in May, so I think I wont be able to watch the episodes as soon as they air.
