Giving up on Coffee (and Caffeine) for Some Days

Roughly a month ago my stomach was not on its best. Having a mild case of gastritis, and the occasional acid sensation on my stomach, I decided to cut it (along with spicy food) for a few days. In the end, I was able to go 72 hours before giving up and having a cup of coffee. To be fair, it was Saturday afternoon and I was barely functioning.

Yeah, I was needing it

Being More Productive: Self Improvement #1

Lately, I started feeling that I needed to get back on track when it comes to my hobbies. I noticed how I miss playing music, Dungeons and Dragons, and doing Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan and other cool stuff. On top of that, I realized that I’m 30 and changing my career path. I also need to exercise both mind and body and learn new things for my career and also for self-improvement.

Cool Weekend

This weekend was interesting. Friday after class me and my classmates went looking for winter clothes, unfortunately without success. But still we had lunch at a cool Japanese restaurant downtown.

Saturday late afternoon I went to Sherwood Park with my wife. When we arrived there was getting dark already. So, we didn’t walk too much there, considering it’s not well-lit and had a sign alerting for coyotes.

But anyway, it was good going out and waking around a bit. We did manage to take some cool photos, as you can see in this post.

AniList For Anime Tracking: Follow Me There!

Anilist may not be so popular and well known as MyAnimeList (MAL), which every anime lover already knows about. MAL is THE site when it comes to find information about anime, manga and light novels. But since it went down for some days and returned lacking a lot of features, many users changed to AniList, Kitsu or some other option.

(Not so) Weekly Updates

Yeah, I have to admit that I don’t think I’ll ever be able to do weekly updates, sometimes I forget, others I’m too busy or just don’t have anything to say. But this week I’m back again!

Weekly Updates

What a crazy week. It was the last week of the semester, so I was doing assignments and finals. Besides that, I moved to a new apartment Monday night! Crazy, right?

View From New Apartment

Yesterday I moved to a new apartment, and this is the view from the balcony this morning!

Everyone have a nice week!

Today I went with my wife to Little Piggy, a Korean restaurant in Toronto’s Koreatown. There’s a bulgogi and a Heineken not shown in the picture.

My first birthday in Canada!

Today is my birthday, hooray! I’m turning 31 today, and this is my first birthday here in Canada.

Library Haul: July 4, 2018

Yesterday I went to another Toronto Library branch, the Bloor/Gladstone Library. I’ve never been there, and I really liked, because it looks beautiful and they have a lot of comic books and manga. Back in Brazil I never though someday I would be borrowing manga and comics from a library.

The manga is Delicious in Dungeon, published by Yen Press. I’ve been interested in it for some time, and now it’s finally time to check if it’s good.

When young adventurer Laios and his company are attacked and soundly thrashed by a dragon deep in a dungeon, the party loses all its money and provisions…and a member! They’re eager to go back and save her, but there is just one problem: If they set out with no food or coin to speak of, they’re sure to starve on the way! But Laios comes up with a brilliant idea: “Let’s eat the monsters!” Slimes, basilisks, and even dragons…none are safe from the appetites of these dungeon-crawling gourmands!

Next I have volumes 3 and 4 of Sex Criminals. I have read the first couple volumes a while ago, and I can guarantee that IT IS SO MUCH FUN! The idea is really strange and sounds absurd, but hey, give it a try. Besides being really funny, it also has a lot of depth about sexuality and relationships.

Suzie’s just a regular gal with an irregular gift: when she has sex, she stops time. One day she meets Jon and it turns out he has the same ability. And sooner or later they get around to using their gifts to do what we’d ALL do: rob a couple banks.

I also borrowed the first two volumes of Bee And Puppycat for my wife, as she wanted to read it for a long time, and she is reading comics to practice her English skills and increase her vocabulary.

A quirky new take on the magical girl genre with Bee, the forever unemployed main character who can’t seem to figure out life, and the mysterious PuppyCat, a stray…whatever it is…that she stumbled across who has a powerful secret.
