I’m back again (?) #WeeklyUpdates (2)

So this is a Weekly Updates post. With only 2 mote weeks for the semester (and my college program) to end, I’m very busy with assignments. Also, I’ve started doing some alcohol tastings/samplings at the LCBO (government liquor store). But I still managed to read and watch some stuff.

At the beginning of the week I finished watching Netflix’s Daredevil season 3, and it was TOTALLY AWESOME. I’m very gad I decided to watch it, as I was totally hooked up. Unfortunately, yesterday they announced that a 4th season won’t be happening =/

Today, I finished Violet Evergarden, after a couple months postponing the last 2 episodes. And I also loved it. So beautiful, emotional and touching. It’s not something I say about any anime. I still have to watch the special, and I’ll probably do it tomorrow night.

I have caught up with We Never Learn, and it’s getting way better than I though. There’s more character development going on, and it’s not only random comedy sketches anymore. Way to go. I hope the anime adaptation that is coming is good!

Also, I have started reading the 5th book on the Keeper of the Lost Cities series: Lodestar. So far it’s being a lot of fun, and I really wish that this series were more popular. It’s a middle-grade fantasy and adventure series with elves, goblins, and many more.

Also, I bought three new light novels on the J-Novel Club sale (eBook versions), all volume 1. Amagi Brilliant Park, Kokoro Connect and Occultic;Nine. And I already read Amagi, and started reading Occultic;Nine last night. I’ll talk about them later, on another post. But so far, it’s interesting to read Yuta’s thoughts on his blog 🙂

“You know what an affiliate blog is, right? There’s no better profession out there for my NEET friends. Basically, the more popular your blog, the more hits you get. And the more people who click on your affiliate links, and the more money you earn.”

Yuta Gamon (Occultic;Nine vol. 1)

And that’s it for now. Below, I’m following Yuta’s teachings on affiliate links, and added Amazon links to all the books I have listed here.

Kokoro Connect Volume 1: Hito Random
Lodestar (Keeper of the Lost Cities Book 5) by Shannon Messenger
Amagi Brilliant Park: Volume 1
Occultic;Nine: Volume 1

Weekly Updates: Reading Week Is Here

As I mentioned in my last post, I was busy with college. But today, reading week is starting, and that means I’ll get some rest. Or not.

Starting – The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments

I had totally forgotten that The Seven Deadly Sins: Revival of The Commandments (Nanatsu no Taizai: Imashime no Fukkatsu) was premiering on Netflix today! It was a very welcome surprise, considering just yesterday I said I wasn’t watching any anime at the moment.

When the second season (not considering the 4 episodes “thing” as a season) was airing on TV, I was too busy to watch it and decided to wait until it was available on Netflix. Now, I have 24 episodes to watch! OK, one down, 23 to go.

I didn’t see any reviews and comments on it, and I just hope it’s as good as the first season.

As always, you can check for details about it on MyAnimeList and AniList.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving (My First One)

Today is thanksgiving here in Canada. It’s kind of weird, in a good way, since in Brazil there’s no thanksgiving. So, today is my first time celebrating it, and it’s going to be really cool. Friends are coming over for dinner, we have a bit of alcohol, maybe we’ll play Fibbage 3. But anyway fun is guaranteed.

And if you ask me what I’m thankful for, I would say:

  • Coming to Canada this year, after so much planning and preparing;
  • Making some great friends at the college;
  • My wife who’s here with me, and who is giving me support all this time;
  • Being back with a blog, and have you following and visiting my blog!

Finished: The Americans (FX Russian Spy Show)

A few years ago I decided to start The Americans on Netflix. Today, after taking way too long to watch the 6th and final season, I have finally managed to finish it. And I must say: it was worth every minute and I’m both sad and happy that it ended.

Should I Catch up with Game of Thrones?

These last weeks one of my roommates is watching Game of Thrones and listening to podcasts about it. In the end, I see some scenes, and can’t help but wonder if I should start watching it again.

Giving up on Coffee (and Caffeine) for Some Days

Roughly a month ago my stomach was not on its best. Having a mild case of gastritis, and the occasional acid sensation on my stomach, I decided to cut it (along with spicy food) for a few days. In the end, I was able to go 72 hours before giving up and having a cup of coffee. To be fair, it was Saturday afternoon and I was barely functioning.

Yeah, I was needing it

Being More Productive: Self Improvement #1

Lately, I started feeling that I needed to get back on track when it comes to my hobbies. I noticed how I miss playing music, Dungeons and Dragons, and doing Yoga, Tai Chi Chuan and other cool stuff. On top of that, I realized that I’m 30 and changing my career path. I also need to exercise both mind and body and learn new things for my career and also for self-improvement.

Cool Weekend

This weekend was interesting. Friday after class me and my classmates went looking for winter clothes, unfortunately without success. But still we had lunch at a cool Japanese restaurant downtown.

Saturday late afternoon I went to Sherwood Park with my wife. When we arrived there was getting dark already. So, we didn’t walk too much there, considering it’s not well-lit and had a sign alerting for coyotes.

But anyway, it was good going out and waking around a bit. We did manage to take some cool photos, as you can see in this post.
