Last month I read the first volume of Occultic;Nine (by Chiyomaru Shikura and pako). I had way more fun with it than I imagined, and it left me eager for more. In the end, last week I bought volumes 2 and 3.
I started it the day before yesterday and I’m at 40%. The writing seems to have improved, and now the book has a more serious tone, and the main character is not so much focused on boobs anymore. Which is a huge improvement for me.
Synopsis (Vol. 1): Yuta Gamon, a young boy who lives in Kichijoji, runs an occult blog called “Kirikiri Basara.” He spends his days dreaming of making a fortune off his affiliate links. What starts off as a tiny feeling that something’s wrong develops into a case that goes beyond imagining. Suddenly, Yuta brings together the fates of nine strangers. (Check on Amazon)
After a very long time, I finally managed to finish watching Himouto! Umaru-chan R. I watched it with my wife, as it seems to be one of the few anime that she really enjoys.
I had a great time with it. Umaru continues to be the adorably cute nerd inside, and this seasons shows a bit more of her relationship with her brother and the other characters. Although overall the first season was slightly better, another season would be more than welcome.
Watch it if you
Want something funny;
Like anime about otakus/gamers;
Don’t mind the occasional scene with the young girl with big boobs;
Don’t watch it if you
Are totally averse to any kind of fanservice or “big brother” stuff
I think The Promised Neverland (Yakusoku no Neverland) is one of the most awaited anime of this season, considering that the manga is a HUGE success. Today it finally premiered and I went in blind, without having read the manga or even reviews about it.
This weekend I did the pre-order for the first volume of Mushoku Tensei: Jobless Reincarnation, the light novel. I have been interested in this series since forever, but the sheer number of volumes, along with the fact that it was a fan-translation, made me never start it.
I did start reading the manga when I was back in Brazil, but for some reason I stopped. Now that we are getting an official English release and that I’m a bit more hooked on light novels, I decided to pre-order it for my Kindle.
Since I created my library card at Toronto Public Library I fell in love with it. They have a huge catalog, and everything works well. These days, after watching Deadpool 2 and Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, I wanted to read some comic books again. Then I went online and put a hold for 7 books. This Saturday all of them were available.
I got two volumes of Revival, which is a cool zombie series. Also, a volume of Wayward, Archie, Jughead: The Hunger, Lady Killer and a Scrooge McDuck volume.
I already read Archie Vol. 3 and some of the Disney comic book, and next I’ll probably read Jughead.
